Wings of Wonder Pilgrimage Retreats

Pausing outside of our monastery in Florance, Italy to gaze at the stars in wonder.

Wings of Wonderlust (intentionally spelled 'wonder,' not 'wander') offers a transformative pilgrimage experience designed to deepen spiritual connection to one’s self, others and the Divine through visits to sacred sites. Each journey is enriched by art, making and creative contemplative practices, inviting participants to explore the sacred with imagination, intention, awe and wonder.

❋ Pre & Post Trip Prep

Participants will begin their journey with pre-travel preparation that includes guided self-reflection, exploration of personal transformation through the lens of the Hero’s Journey, and both spiritual and physical readiness. This phase also involves creating a personalized travel journal and participating in a small-group book study to deepen engagement.

Following the pilgrimage, participants will take part in a post-journey reflection and debrief to process their experiences and integrate insights into daily life.

❋ Where will we travel?

We aim to hold two trips per year - one Spring and one Fall - in the shoulder season when temperatures are moderate, crowds habve dispersed and there’s room for a contemplative pace.

During the pilgrimage, a philosophy of 'slow travel' shapes the experience—intentionally spacious, with ample time for rest, reflection, and presence. While each day includes meaningful programming, the true focus is on allowing room for personal insight and transformation. No artistic experience is required—only an open heart and a willingness to engage.

❋ Where will we travel?

Our pilgrimages lead us to sacred landscapes and storied places where art, beauty, and spirituality have shaped the human search for meaning. We journey to historic religious sites, centers of artistic legacy, and spaces of quiet wonder—destinations that invite deep connection with self, community, and the divine through creative encounter.

While Italy and France anchor our travels, future pilgrimages may also include Scotland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Peru, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, and select destinations within the United States—each chosen for its spiritual resonance, cultural richness, and transformative potential.

❋ Who is this for?

These pilgrimages are for those who travel with an open heart and a listening spirit—people drawn to depth, beauty, and transformation rather than itinerary and pace. Some journeys will lean more spiritual in nature, while others will be more explicitly religious, yet all are grounded in hospitality, respect, and openness.

No art experience is required—only curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to engage art in its many forms. This is not a traditional tour, but a contemplative travel retreat, inviting participants to deepen their relationship with themselves, with others, and with the divine through art, reflection, and shared spiritual practice.
